Description

3D Textiles.

(Or what the heck do I do with an armature?!)

Have fun exploring ways of working in 3D with textiles stitched over wire or plastic armatures.

We’ll start with a brainstorming session to develop concepts and designs for personal projects or for upcoming exhibitions.

After we’ve manipulated wire into your desired shape, we’ll wrap it with fabrics and then add functional and decorative stitch to really bring it to life.

Bring along bric-a-brac if you wish to attach with binding and couching methods. Basic hand stitching experience required.

This workshop will present new approaches to add to your repertoire and it will facilitate visual expression of your ideas through textiles.
